Each spread is two facing pages: even page on the left, odd page on the right. A monthly spread opens each month. Weeks run Monday–Sunday. A week that straddles two months stays before the next monthly spread if at least 3 of its days fall in the ending month; with only 1–2 days in the ending month it goes after the next monthly spread. The week containing January 1 belongs to the prior year's journal (its final weekly spread), so the year starts with the January monthly and then the first Monday-start week. Week of year counts Monday-start weeks, with week 1 being the first full week of January (the first Monday on or after January 1). Years before 2027 keep the old rule, where week 1 is the week containing January 1. Life days run Monday through Sunday and are counted so the birthdate is life day 2; the life week is the one containing the week's Sunday. Year done is the share of the year complete through the week's Sunday (capped at 100%), and squares is that share of a 6×8 grid (48 squares), where a partial square is fine. The week containing December 31 is this year's final weekly spread.
